The goal is to guess a secret five-letter word in six tries. Type on your keyboard or tap the letters on screen, then press Enter. As you guess, different colors help you to get closer to the secret word.
Neighbors
Every clue is about the key you pressed and its neighbors: the keys directly left, right, above and below it on this game's keyboard. Diagonals don't count.
G's neighbors are F, H, T and B.
Colors
- GGreen: right letter, right spot.
- GYellow: right spot, wrong key. The letter that belongs here is one of this key's neighbors.
- GCyan: wrong spot. This letter or one of its neighbors is in the word, somewhere else.
- GGray: neither this letter nor any of its neighbors is in the word.
A tile shows the first of these that fits, so yellow and cyan never promise that the letter you typed is in the word.
Keyboard
The keyboard keeps track for you. Green keys are in the word. Yellow and cyan keys are still possible: a clue has pointed at them. Gray keys are ruled out.
Example
Say the secret word is FLAME and you guess GRAPE.
GRAPE
- Gis yellow: its neighbor F belongs in this spot.
- Ris cyan: R is not in the word, but its neighbors E and F are, in other spots.
- Ais green: right letter, right spot.
- Pis gray: neither P nor its only neighbor, O, is in the word.
- Eis green too.
Good to know
If you enter an invalid word, it will be highlighted in pink. Erase it before trying again.
